Reflection 13

The ArcGIS map that I made shows the US cities that Mitski will visit on her tour in 2024. I used the buffer analysis feature to visualize the areas around each city that people at her concerts might be from (each buffer extends 300 miles from the center). The last time I did the ArcGIS training I remember thinking a lot about legibility when zooming in and out of the map. This time I was also thinking about this—especially because I wanted something to visually represent an area that would remain proportional to the map when you zoomed in and out. I also remember being frustrated because you have to change the file you are using for the layer and you can’t just edit the layer on ArcGIS, this was not as frustrating this time because I had less changes to make because I knew if I kept all of the locations within the same country I would not have to use coordinate points/make as many edits as I did last time in order for my data points to show up.
